Kutumela is also on the wanted list of AmaZulu but it now looks likely he will relocate to Gauteng next season to join Sundowns. The Limpopo-born striker's contract with People's Choice is set to expire in June next year.
United are reportedly ready to cash on Kutumela's deal with the Brazilians before signing a pre-contract with any team in the next six months.
"Sundowns has made the offer. The chances are 80% that the deal could go through," said the source. "Maritzburg United are under pressure to sell him before losing him for free in January.
The Brazilians are set to report back for pre-season training on July 5 with Kutumela amongst those earmarked to be paraded by the club on the same day.
