Kaizer Chiefs should have been punished with another red card during their match against Moroka Swallows, according to renowned former referee Victor Hlungwani.

Amakhosi escaped with a point when they played to a goalless draw against Moroka Swallows at FNB Stadium on Sunday night.

Chiefs were put on the back foot early in the second half when defender Edmilson Dove was adjudged to have fouled Gabadinho Mhango who had only the keeper to beat.

However, speaking on SABC Sports' Soccerzone, retired referee Victor Hlungwani has revealed that the Glamour Boys should have been reduced to nine players Chiefs defender Happy Mashiane also committed an off-the-ball challenge of Mhango later in the match.

"Here we're talking about violent conduct, violent conduct is when a player uses excessive force or attempts to use excessive force when not challenging for the ball,” Hlungwani said.

"It means the ball is stopped so here the ball has stopped the referee blew the whistle to stop the game and here is Mashiane coming from somewhere to do what we call violent conduct.

"Mashiane should have been sent off to this action or for this challenge because it's violent conduct and unfortunately Olandi Kwinda gave him a yellow card.

"So Olani should learn from this one that when Mashiane does this it is not a happy moment because we are not happy about it."
