Kaizer Chiefs attacking statistics since the league resumed this year show cause for concern as they have the worst output in all competitions in 2024.

Chiefs went to the Africa Cup of Nations break having laid a solid foundation for the second round of the season after combining four consecutive matches without defeat, which included three successive wins.

However, Cavin Johnson's charges have become worse, not only for themselves but they are currently the worst scoring side in the league along with Moroka Swallows.

The Glamour Boys and Swallows are the only sides in the league yet to find the back of the net in 2024, as the Naturena-based side were held to a goalless draw by Royal AM in their first match back, were held to another stalemate against Milford in the Nedbank Cup last 32 in extra-time, before losing on penalties and over the weekend ten-man Amakhosi played to a third successive stalemate.

The Birds, who were rocked by a contract saga with the players before the league closed and after it resumed, have also not scored in three games after they re-opened their campaign with a 1-0 defeat against Polokwane City, played to stalemate in the Nedbank Cup round of 32 in extra-time against Platinum City Rovers, before eventually advancing on penalties.

Maswaiswai played to a third consecutive stalemate after they were held by ten-man Chiefs in a drab Soweto derby over the weekend.

Amakhosi going three games without scoring, including extra-time against the Stallions equals to at least 300 minutes of being unable to find the back of the net and the same is the case for Swallows, as the two Soweto giants have had at least a combined 600 minutes of not scoring since the league resumed.

The situation is worse for Chiefs considering that Swallows were not expected to fire on all cylinders given their situation of reshuffling the team and also parting ways with head coach Steve Komphela.
