Kaizer Chiefs could be facing a leadership crisis after naming their fifth captain of the season in their starting line-up in a 1-0 defeat to Richards Bay FC.
Chiefs' crisis has coincided with the team not having a consistent leader on the field, after already passing on the armband to at least five different players from the start of matches.

Goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune seemed to have retained his captaincy early on in the season under former coach Molefi Ntseki, but he could not remain number one goalkeeper and Brandon Petersen became the skipper.
However, after a number of costly errors, Petersen lost his place in the team and Yusuf Maart became the captain.
But with Maart now injured, alongside another captain up in the pecking order Keagan Dolly also injured and Khune officially stripped of the captaincy role and not in the matchday squads, interim coach Cavin Johnson handed the armband to Given Msimango.
Johnson defended their ever-changing line-up of captains as purely accidental after Msimango skippered the side in their defeat against the Natal Rich Boyz.
"I think when you do an analysis of the team in its entirety, then the team is still very young. I think it's Itu (Khune) who has been here for more than 20 years, the other guys are still young in the team," Johnson told reporters at King Zwelithini Stadium.
"It's who they pick as their captain, if this one is out, Keagan is out injured, Yusuf got injured as well, Itu has been fighting to get match-fit again. So, Given is the next-best captain because I do believe that in any club you have to have 11 captains on the field and not one.

"The captain is there to toss the coin and make sure you kick the ball right, but other than that you have to have 11 captains. So, there's no problem about that for me," Johnson added.
