Nasreddine Nabi is his way to yet another league title after failed negotiations with Kaizer Chiefs.

Tunisian Belgian coach Muhammad Nasreddine Nabi has pushed his way into good standing with his employers in Morocco just months after unsuccessful negotiations with Kaizer Chiefs.

Nabi was engaged in talks with the Soweto outfit at the beginning of the season with regards to taking over as head coach after he left Tanzanian giants Young Africans.

The negotiations turned sour after Chiefs insisted on imposing their own technical staff to work with Nabi, who wanted to have Cedric Kaze as assistant, conditioning coach Helmy Gueldich, and analyst Khalil Ben Youssef.

After the proposed Amakhosi deal failed, Nabi then joined Moroccan champions ASFAR (FAR Rabat), where he has made a huge impression.

Nabi is making his way to another league triumph in Morocco sitting on a four-point lead with six games to play.

The only challenger is Raja Casablanca, who have the former Orlando Pirates pair of Josef Zinnbauer and Fadlu Davids as head coach and assistant, respectively.

This website has been told that with the title in sight, Nabi will be allowed to stamp his influence around transfers and the composition of his technical team next season, with the club playing in the CAF Champions League.

Nabi will remain under contract with ASFAR next season and has earned the confidence of the club’s military decision makers.

There has been admiration from at least two clubs in the Saudi Arabian second-tier league, although it hasn’t been anything tangible at this stage.

While Chiefs made contact at the beginning of the season, they have not made any direct follow-up, with their interests for a new coach now elsewhere.

What will be even a bigger challenge for the Naturena-based side is what must be paid to get Nabi out of his contract with ASFAR, who are keen to give him improved conditions.

Fow now, Nabi will move on towards adding another league title on his CV and then enjoying the benefits of influencing his way next season.

Nabi won the double treble with Young Africans over the last two years, while also reaching the final of the CAF Confederation Cup.
