While Kaizer Chiefs supporters continue to call for the hiring of South African serial-winning coach Pitso Mosimane, the ball seems to be in the club's court, after 'Jingles' opened up on that possibility.

Amakhosi chairman Dr. Kaizer Motaung is on record saying recently that they are in a process of getting a new coach, to permanently replace former coach Molefi Ntseki, as Cavin Johnson oversees the technical team on a temporary basis.

Motaung further clarified on SportsLive with BBK, that they have plans to unveil a new coach who would start his work with the pre-season next year.

After a high turnover of coaches at the Glamour Boys, it is generally believed that as they take their time to get a new man in charge, they need to get the right profile of a coach, who would end their nine-year wait without a trophy.

Mosimane, who has transformed teams wherever he went, has been touted by Amakhosi supporters as an ideal candidate to take the hot seat at Naturena, particularly with the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly coach without a club after parting ways with Al Wahda last month.

There have been suggestions from some sections of fans that perhaps the fact that Chiefs have not won a trophy in nine years could hinder the former Bafana Bafana coach from considering coaching the Glamour Boys, given the level he has reached.

However, the 59-year-old tactician says he has been reviving teams throughout his career and would not have a problem with the fact that Chiefs have not won a trophy in so many years.

"Sometimes I ask myself when will I really get it so nice. You're asking me about the profile of Kaizer Chiefs, they haven't done this for so many years, so I'm saying to you, to me, I've been doing these things all the time," Mosimane said on Sunday World News YouTube Channel.

"That they have not won a trophy for so much, is not such a big issue for me. The issue is what do you want to achieve, how are you (going to) achieve that, what's the plan. Kaizer Chiefs is a big brand, guys, let's be honest, we all know what Kaizer Chiefs is, what an institution. It's amazing.

"(But) we're also business people and also this is a career, make no mistake, ask Pep (Guardiola), Jurgen Klopp, this is not charity, this is not which club you supported when you were young. There must be a proper plan and a proper vision, to say do you want to do this? I can coach any team, in the country, in Africa, in the gulf, the US, Europe but it has to be proper," he added.

Interestingly, Mosimane is partly responsible for extending Chiefs' trophy drought, as apart from his dominance at Sundowns, he notably snatched the 2019/20 league title in their grasp in the final matchday and also thrashed Amakhosi in the 2015/16 Telkom Knockout final in former coach Steve Komphela's first season.
