Benni McCarthy broke new ground as a South African coach after he was hired at Manchester United and there is a belief among fans that Pitso Mosimane can also crack it in Europe, but Mosimane recently revealed the challenges.
McCarthy was relieved of his duties at AmaZulu in March 2022 and four months later he landed a big job at Man United as a first team coach, specializing in coaching attacking players.
Mosimane also left African borders in the same year in September after being appointed at Al Ahli Saudi and after a season, remained in the Middle East but in a different country, United Arab Emirates, as he was appointed at Al Wahda.
However, the 59-year-old coach is currently without a job after he parted ways with Al Wahda and there are question marks on whether there would be interested clubs in Europe.

In the CAF international space, Mosimane has won three CAF Champions League titles, three Super Cup titles and has guided Al Ahly to two successive third place finishes at the FIFA Club World Cup.
In Saudi Arabia, the South African legendary coach won promotion with Al Ahli, in the first year they were in the second division by winning the Yelo League title.
Is his CV not decorated enough to coach in Europe? The former Bafana Bafana coach suggested that racism still exists in Europe, although it's not explicit, after making an example of former Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer, who had a spell in Russia after leaving Pirates.
"The world is a little bit different now, no one will say 'black guy' or whatever, nobody will say that but do they have to say it to experience the difficulties? They say actions speak louder than words," Mosimane said on Sunday World News YouTube Channel.

"Let's take an example, coach Zinnbauer, who was here at Orlando Pirates, if he puts his CV, I put my CV, he's gonna get employed in Europe, not me. It doesn't matter what he has won, what he didn't win, he will get the job. It's a fact.
"And Jay-Z the coach is a good friend of mine, we smile, we had tea together in Saudi, he was coaching Raja Casablanca but he's been to Russia, a Champions League team, can I go there? No. And what is the criteria of employment? Because it must be your CV. But he gets it," he added.
Zinnbauer is currently the head coach of Raja Casablanca, assisted by Fadlu Davids, even during their time at Lokomotiv Moscow.
Davids' younger brother Maahier, was the assistant to Mosimane and temporarily held the fort at Al Wahda after the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach was admitted into a hospital for health reasons.
