Despite not participating in the Nedbank Cup round of 16, Kaizer Chiefs had news to ponder regarding their shortcomings.
Chiefs were bundled out of the Nedbank Cup in the first round by Motsepe Foundation Championship side Milford on penalties, after a goalless draw in extra-time.
The Glamour Boys have had a history of being knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by lower division sides but their quality for this season came under question after fellow DStv Premiership side Stellenbosch dismantled the same Milford 6-1 in the Nedbank Cup round of 16.

Among other matters that are rumoured to have stalled Chiefs' progress after their trophyless run stretched to nine seasons is the alleged disciplinary issues, some of which emerged late last year.
Amakhosi's former players, Kgaogelo Sekgota and Darrel Matsheke could not escape the tag of not being disciplined at the Cape Winelands outfit after Stellies head coach Steve Barker confirmed that they released Sekgota and Matsheke due to disciplinary issues (midway into the season), speaking to reporters after their 6-1 drubbing of the Stallions.
"Ja, look I think it's important that as a club, one of our mottos and slogans is 'more than football'. So, we're there to support and help players and encourage them to be professional about what they do," Barker told journalists at Princess Magogo Stadium.
"And in both instances, we were there to support and help the players and give them a level of counselling and support throughout but unfortunately sometimes you just reach a stage where you cannot continue with an inexcusable behaviour and the club has to make a stand," Barker affirmed.
After thrashing Milford 6-1, Stellies extended their unbeaten run to 17 matches in all competitions (excluding the loss against All Stars XI in the Carling Black Label Cup exhibition game), with their biggest highlight in that run being winning the Carling Knockout.
"If you look at the season thus far, obviously losing on away goal in a semifinal in the MTN8, going on to win the Carling and now being in the last eight of the Nedbank and also in a good strong position on the log table. I think it's now 17 games unbeaten of 13 wins and four draws which is really, really an incredible run," the experienced coach added.
