TS Galaxy 0-2 Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs returned to winning ways in the DStv Diski Challenge following a 2-0 victory over TS Galaxy at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Sunday.

The Soweto giants came into the contest having failed to win their last five matches in the campaign, while they started the year with a draw against Chippa United.

Galaxy, meanwhile, were in high spirits after they thrashed Polokwane City 5-0 last weekend.

Neither side were able to get on the front foot in the first half, as it remained tight and, in the end, saw the opening period of the match conclude goalless.

Chiefs turned out at the resumption revived and hit the front with nine minutes in courtesy of Neo Bohloko, before Siphesihle Tati sealed the win a few minutes later.

Royal AM 3-4 Cape Town City

Cape Town City edged Royal AM 4-3 to remain in the top-half spot on the table in the other clash at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Sunday.

City presented a start to 15-year-old Emile Witbooi and looked to get back to collect their first win of the year.

The highly-rated starlet enjoyed an enterprised opening spell, as the boys from the Western Cape broke the deadlock through Rubein Bamana who quickly added a second minutes apart.

Royal AM bounced back a few seconds later through a stunning strike from Thabiso Nzoyiya, and levelled ahead of the break through the self-same Nzoyiya.

Witbooi’s dream outing continued ten minutes following the second period when he restored the Citizens cushion to leave Thwihli Thwahla trailing once again.

City bagged a fourth with ten minutes to go as Cee-Jay Bezuidenhout slotted in from the penalty spot after foul in the area, as Phoyisa Mbhele give Royal a third but it didn’t lead to a comeback.
