Golden Arrows 0-3 Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates extended their lead at the top of the DStv Diski Challenge with a comprehensive 3-0 drubbing over Golden Arrows on Saturday.

Abafana Besthende were under siege from the get-go and fell behind as Simphiwe Selepe broke through the lines to find the net.

Joseph Makhanya's charges extended the lead after a few minutes when Lonwabo Magugwana latched onto a well-weighted corner-kick to arrow in the net.

Having made the breakthrough, Selepe’s fortunes turned for the worse as he got his marching orders for dangerous play in the middle of the first half and left the Buccaneers with ten players.

Nonetheless, that didn’t seem to bother the Soweto giants who didn’t lose control of matters and bagged in a third through the highly-rated Relebohile Mofokeng on the stroke of halftime.

Mamelodi Sundowns 1-1 Stellenbosch FC

Mamelodi Sundowns halted Stellenbosch FC’s five-match winning run with a hard-fought 1-1 draw in the DStv Diski Challenge in Atteridgeville.

The Tshwane giants, who raced to the lead in the opening stages were pegged back as the Maroons evened up matters to go to the break on an equal standing.

After sustaining four-goal drubbings recently, the Brazilians have now put the brakes to keep a firm eye on the chase for the title.

Polokwane City 1-0 AmaZulu

Polokwane City finally picked up their first win of the season following a 1-0 victory over fellow struggling AmaZulu in a bottom-two tussle.

The winning strike happened in the opening ten minutes of the match when Thato Matli applied a solid piece of footwork in an advanced position to bulge the back of the net.

However, the outcome doesn’t do much for them in terms of climbing the table as they remain rooted with Usuthu just above them on the table standings.

Chippa United 1-2 Richards Bay FC

Richards Bay FC engineered a third successive win to continue their surge up the table following a 2-1 victory over a ten-men Chippa United.

This comes on the back of last weekend’s victory over Cape Town Spurs, as goals in the second half from Khanyile Sfundo and Siphephile Buthelezi got the job done.

Chippa attempted to draw a share of the spoils in additional time through a penalty, but it was repelled and in addition saw Abraham Mashele dismissed for an indiscretion.

Moroka Swallows 0-5 SuperSport United

Moroka Swallows' poor run continued after suffering a 5-0 defeat at the hands of SuperSport United on Saturday morning/.

Oratilwe Moloisane and captain Thabang Makubo put the Tshwane two goals ahead in the first half.

Makubo completed his brace after the break, before Motebang Matube and Thabang Mahlangu added their names to scoresheet to complete the rout.

Sekhukhune United 2-2 Cape Town Spurs

Sekhukhune United’s two match winning streak were ended after playing to a thrilling 2-2 draw against Cape Town Spurs at the Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbiljpaark.

Babina Noko headed to halftime carrying the front foot following Oageng Phiri’s effort, but it was cancelled out a little in the second period by Tashreeq Manuel.

The Urban Warriors were in the lead a while thereafter courtesy of a telling execution from Khaya Mfecane, but Jordan Marks popped up to rescue a point for the home team in the final minutes to fulltime.
