Chippa United 4-0 Mamelodi Sundowns

Table-topping Mamelodi Sundowns were brought down to earth after a 4-0 loss to Chippa United in the DStv Diski Challenge on Saturday.

It was the Tshwane side’s first loss of the season after going 12 matches as the Chilli Boys proved merciless in either half to leave the visitors with their tails between their legs.

The heavy didn’t do damage to Masandawana’s position atop standings, but kept them albeit at a reduced rate with second-place Orlando Pirates now just a point adrift.

Orlando Pirates 3-1 Cape Town Spurs

Orlando Pirates bounced back from last weekend’s disappointment against the holders SuperSport United and inflicted a 3-1 loss to Cape Town Spurs.

Pirates wasted no time to get going as Mpumelelo Ndaba made the opening on just three minutes, but the visitors replied to go into break level.

The Sea Robbers ultimately went on to grab the maximum points as goals in the final stages of the second half from Sphamandla Mdunge and Lulama Nxumalo put the Urban Warriors to bed.

Stellenbosch FC 2-0 Polokwane City

Stellenbosch FC cemented third spot on the league standings following a comprehensive 2-0 victory over the bottom-place Polokwane City.

Rise and Shine remain without a win, as goals from Langelihle Phiri and Azola Jakalashe got them over the line in the Winelands.

Golden Arrows 1-0 TS Galaxy

Golden Arrows ended the first half of the season on a high note after seeing off TS Galaxy 1-0 to record back-to-back victories in the process.

The winner came early in the first half from skipper Luvuyo Ndlovu happened to be the difference on the day and left the Rockets heartbroken.

Sekhukhune United 3-2 Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs finished the year in the DStv Diski Challenge in disappointing fashion and went down 3-2 to Sekhukhune United on Sunday.

Chiefs entered the break in front through a fine header, but Babina Noko clawed their way back and levelled through Oageng Phiri.

However, the Amakhosi regained the lead shortly thereafter only for Sekhukhune to pull level again with Sihali on strike before Marks Jordan got the winner in the last minute of regular time.

Royal AM 2-2 SuperSport United

Defending champions SuperSport United led a 2-0 lead slip to see out a 2-2 draw against Royal AM and had their inconsistent campaign continue.

United raced into a two-goal cushion into the halftime break all with goals from Siviwe Magidigidi as well as Manelis Mazibuko.

Thwihli Thwahla showed strength after the interval and overturned the deficit to snatch a point from the jaws of defeat and furthermore denied Matsatsantsa back-to-back defeats.

Cape Town City 4-1 Moroka Swallows

Cape Town City concluded the year positively and hammered the struggling Moroka Swallows 4-1 at the Malta Sports Stadium.

The Citizens, who drew 1-1 with Kaizer Chiefs last Sunday, were two goals to the good at halftime and added another two amidst the Dube Birds reply to get all the points.

Richards Bay FC 1-0 AmaZulu

Richards Bay FC concluded the first part of the season with a 1-0 win over the bottom-placed AmaZulu in a mid-table six-pointer.

With the match taking place at the Chatsworth Stadium, the two teams were score-less at the break before Thandoluhle Gazu separated the sides with the winner in the first half.
