Banyana Banyana advanced to the next phase of the CAF Olympic qualifiers with a 4-0 aggregate win over Tanzania.

Amogelang Motau started after coming off the bench in Friday’s first-leg with captain Thembi Kgatlana flanked up top by Jermaine Seoposenwe before key player Hildah Magaia sat out entirely.

Tanzania held on for dear life in the opening stages, as the host targeted a fast start through continuous overloads to all of the offensive set-ups.

Motau nearly got the opener on her special day after meeting a cutback around the closing spell of the first half, but in the end dragged wide of the mark.

The East Africans continued to be stubborn on all fronts and denied the fancied host any clear pathway to goal at the same time looking to break on the transition.

Banyana surprisingly showed a substitution ten minutes to halftime with Noxolo Cesane removed and Lebogang Ramalepe introduced.

In the second half, Ramalepe threatened the lead with a first-time volley from a ball over the top but misjudged the flight of the ball and ultimately missed.

Banyana eventually made their dominance 12 minutes from the break when Kgatlana latched onto an improvised free-kick around the area and fired in the bottom-corner.

The visitors looked to pull level later on with a short run-up following a ball into space, but goalkeeper Kaylin Swart rushed out to narrow the angle.

Not too many chances were highlighted in the latter stages, as the tempo dropped though the host had done enough to get the win and will now face Nigeria in the final stage of the Olympic qualifiers.
