Several nations have already descended onto Qatar for the exciting 2022 FIFA World Cup. Here's a look at the arrivals of the participating nations.

The story

Qatar has opened its doors to the world and the likes of England and Netherlands have already touched down in the Persian state and getting ready to begin their quest to glory. The coming days are expected to be quite exciting, as more nations will land on Qatari borders as the week progressing and following after a few friendly matches in the coming days.

The Three Lions are ranked fifth in the world heading into the tournament and they are one of only eight teams who have won the competition is its almost 100-year history.

Senegal

Reigning African champions Senegal arrived in Doha on Tuesday and they are considered to be one of the dark horses of the tournament. The Lions of Teranga are ranked 18th in the world and the the highest-placed CAF team according to FIFA, while the standing also means they are they the second strongest team on paper in Group A behind Netherlands and ahead of Ecuador and hosts Qatar.

Argentina

Widely regarded as the frontrunners alongside Brazil, Argentina are one of the teams to look out for. They arrived in Doha on Thursday after clinching a comfortable 5-0 victory over the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi. Albiceleste have one of the best squads at the tournament, boasting one of the greatest footballers of all time, Lionel Messi. It will also be his last showing at the tournament after making his World Cup debut in 2006 in Germany.
