Read: Ntseki: We are getting better and better

Let's take a closer look at what they had to say...

KO Comments

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki believes his side is making steady progress despite their disappointing 1-1 draw to Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8.

Despite missing out on beating Sundowns, Ntseki insists that there are signs of progress, with the Soweto giants winning two of their last three games.

Amakhosi have only lost two of their seven matches across all competitions this season, winning three and drawing two. Ntseki feels there's cohesion and tactical understanding from his players and that they're taking things step-by-step with matches and training.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Ntseki: We are getting better and better" story:

"I'm 100% behind you coach," says khosilannete0.

"I think our defence is a lot better than the past few seasons. However, out attack still has a long way to go," says Dr Mthimkhulu.

"The coach admits that Chiefs didn't play well against Sundowns, but their supporters think otherwise," says thulamda.

"Uma nje nawe ungavula umqondo uzoyizwa lento ayishoyo (If you just open up your mind a bit, you'll get what Ntseki is trying to say). Okay, the fact that we had a game plan but failed to execute it as planned, allowed Sundowns to equalize. Uchaza lokho uNtseki (That's what Ntseki is explaining), that next time in a situation like this this we'll do better," replies lwazihnzimande.

"The team was playing a defensive game against Sundowns yet we are making progress so... Are we gonna play this defensive football the whole season?" says khelagman.

"Dude, have you never played soccer? Each game you approach based on its demand, that's the bottom line," replies Danito 4 Life.

"He surely has never played soccer and definitely has a limited understanding of the game," replies Dr Mthimkhulu.

"He keeps on giving them more excuses and the faithfuls are happy. I guess Baxter was right," says ngwanamoshate.70.

Read: Da Gama: Broos is undermining our football

Veteran coach Owen Da Gama hit out at Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos for his remarks aimed at Kaizer Chiefs players after selecting his final squad for friendlies against the DR Congo and Namibia.

Da Gama feels that Broos' comments that no Kaizer Chiefs players deserved to be in the squad at the moment showed how much he undermines South African football.

Broos has since picked Chiefs' Pule Mmodi to replace the injured Themba Zwane in the squad, but Da Gama still insists that Broos doesn't understand SA football culture as well as he thinks he does.

Da Gama also called for Broos to be humbler in his selection reasoning as a foreign coach and called for a panel of selectors to be introduced to help the Belgian pick his squads in the future.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Da Gama: Broos is undermining our football" story:

"Da Gama wants to be invited for another cake. When he asked the league to give the trophy to Chiefs, was he not undermining Sundowns as they were in the race to win it? He can't hide his love for Chiefs," says thulamda.

"Rubber Doll is trying to improve his CV by adding Chiefs' name, also making Chiefs fans feel wanted. The truth is both are too useless to be involve in BB.

"Let us allow Broos to do his job uninterrupted. We cannot force Broos to include Hlanti and non-playing stars like Dolly," says pbuth7.

"Our football was undermined by Danny Jordan when he fired you Da Gama," says Slow_Poison.

"Konje Da Gama once said 'Give Kaizer Chiefs the League' during COVID 19, and we all know that Sundowns won that league. I am not surprised that he is taking what Broos said about Kaizer Chiefs personally," says Skyvodka.

"The national team coach is very consistent in what he says and sees. At the moment, the Chiefs team is not playing well at all and to think that those players will be selected ahead of those from other teams is pushing it.

"I see his comments about Chiefs players as a direct challenge to the players to keep improving if they want to be in Bafana. He is not disrespecting anyone. We need to be able to take criticism in order to grow!" says khothakhosi.

"Just to put things in perspective, which club is Da Gama coaching now? Has he won any cups based on 'culture.' What is culture by the way? All I see is the South African coaches mostly parking the bus when coaching most teams?

"Is that the culture that we are always told about? I think Teko Modise's comment about Bafana selection was more constructive than this comment from Owen Da Gama and that says a lot about Da Gama's achievements or lack thereof," says msanisto.

"'Give Kaizer Chiefs the league', 'I want to coach Kaizer Chiefs', 'Broos is undermining Kaizer Chiefs'.

"ODG's love for Kaizer Chiefs is unmatched. What did ODG say when the same Broos said that 'Swallows play better than Sundowns (League Champs),' while the same Swallows was languishing at the bottom of the log?" says De GreaT.

"Coach Da Gama, I'm a Kaizer Chiefs supporter there is nothing wrong with what Broos said. He can't select Castilo. The problem is that we are so fragile, and we don't want people to tell us the truth.

"We've hired a 70-year-old something coach and he has done better in my books. A senior citizen has a freedom of speech whether you like it or not. Grandpas don't beat around the bush, they are straight forward," says Mzantsi for sure.

"The cake eater is talking from a point of a supporter. he is hurting. Broos, although I do not agree with him, was expressing his opinion, nothing less nothing more. There must be some players who are deserving," says shadrack.magatikel.

"Da Gama, you have never won even a single cup, but you talk too much. Let Hugo Broos do his job," says ns1owam.

"I'm a Chiefs supporter but Broos was telling the truth it does hurt vele nje. Da Gama should get a chill pill and relax," says mduduzimsibi800.

"Da Gama, We know you want to coach Kaizer Chiefs. Just send your CV to Bobby and apply for a job. You once said Chiefs deserve to win a league trophy while you were competing with them in the league. You failed at Bafana with your so-called culture," says Saavedra.

"At times we need to be honest with ourselves, Chiefs players are not yet convincing. I strongly believe that this will be good for Chiefs and its players," says BrutuswamaJuju.

"And Maela, a bench warmer is deserving yet Mako isn't? keep on defending this coach while it suits y'all. Not long ago, Mshishi was too old for his liking but now he is an integral part of this team yet y'all are still defending him simply because he's currently insulting the team y'all hate.

"He lied by saying Blom is currently not playing yet we know that is not the case. The previous FIFA calendar, he left out Mudau in favour of an average Mobbie, still you guys don't see anything wrong him, he doesn't choose his words wisely with the media but Mashaba was fired for speaking the truth...Hypocrites!" says leonmthokozisi.

"This a coach that beat Africa's number one team, so respect is needed. He's doing well, he has revived a falling national team and is taking us to the AFCON, you guys want COSAFA Cup coaches when we have a nation's cup coach, De Gama is hurting from his Pirates failure, he must sit down," says Terror Fanteni.
