Reaction to Bafana: I don't know how they made it here

Bafana fans took to social media to commend the selection, while others expressed frustration and weren't afraid to voice their thoughts. 

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has named a 36-member preliminary squad for the international friendly matches against Namibia and DR Congo next month.

The preliminary squad will be trimmed to 23 players next week when Broos announces his final list for the two matches.

Fans took opposing stances on the selection. Some completely approved of the squad, others were bothered by the selection of a few players, and some criticised the coaches decision to leave players like Neo Maema, Tshegofatso Mabasa, Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, and Reeve Frosler out of the squad. 

The squad sparked much conversation among social media users.

Bafana will host Namibia on 9 September 2023 (kick off is at 15h00) and DR Congo on 12 September as they begin their preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d'Ivoire in January next year, and for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers that kick off in November.
