Thobejane: Chiefs will win silverware this season

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Rodney "Danger" Thobejane believes the club has all the ammunition to win silverware this season to end their ongoing trophy drought.

New head coach Molefi Ntseki will be under pressure to end an eight-year period of underwhelming results for the Soweto giants.

The Glamour Boys have added some exciting talent to their squad as they look to remedy the situation.

"In my view, Kaizer Chiefs have made good signings," Thobejane tells KickOff.

"But I'm a little bit concerned in terms of strengthening their back four. That's my only concern.

"Let's hope their pre-season helped them to see which combinations will work.

"But I suppose everything will work out fine because of the good signings they have made.

"But the thing is, most of their signings are attackers.

"First games are going to be difficult for every other team because of the match fitness.

"People need to understand that friendly games and competitive games will never be the same.

"The tension and the intensity can't be the same. They have made good signings Chiefs.

"I think Kaizer Chiefs are more than ready for the start of the season, I see them bringing something at home this season.

"I can't say which cup they will win, but I see the Amakhosi family smiling this season."
