It can now be revealed how Kaizer Chiefs beat several rival teams to the signature of in-demand striker Ranga Chivaviro despite Orlando Pirates having gone so far as to book a medical ahead of a protracted transfer.
Chiefs dramatically beat the likes of Pirates, Richards Bay, AmaZulu FC and Tanzanian side Young Africans SC for the services of the in-demand striker.

Amakhosi on Monday announced the 30-year-old's signature on a two-year deal alongside five other additions in preparation under new head coach Molefi Ntseki ahead of the new season.
"Pirates and Gallants had reached an agreement on a transfer fee, but the player rejected the move," a source within the player's camp tells KickOff.
"When Ranga went to Chiefs, he received the most appealing presentation ever.
"Pirates understood his decision as they wouldn't want an unhappy player in their camp.
"While Pirates were waiting for Ranga to arrive for an agreed medical, the player informed the club of his decision to complete a move to Chiefs over Pirates.
"Pirates tabled a better financial offer than Chiefs, but there needs to be an agreement between all parties for a move to happen. That's how Pirates lost out on the move.
"As for Richards Bay, when you are left with six months remaining of your contract, you are allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement.
"But the thing is, Chivaviro's contract with Marumo had a one-year extension option. Irrevocable.
"Which means whatever pre-contract he had could be nullified by a mere phone call.
"But after their relegation, Gallants couldn't keep the player as Ranga wanted to play top-tier football. Gallants didn't want to stand in his way either.
"As for AmaZulu, I don't think the player was interested in going there.
"So, Richards Bay know they don't have a case because if you agree to a pre-contract, you can remove it at any time.
"Chivaviro will score goals for Chiefs, as long as they supply him."
