Former Benoni Premier United goalkeeper Noel Yobou has finally found a new home at First Division Coastal Stream side FC Cape Town, four months after declaring that he has quit relegated Western Province United.
The Ivory Coast-born keeper has been training with FC Cape Town for a while now and had agreed terms only for his move to be delayed by the issuing of his work permit.
Yobou received his registration card from the PSL on Friday and immediately took to the field in the derby win over Vasco da Gama the following day.
Johnny Ferreira is excited about his latest recruit, who has signed a one-year contract with an option to renew.
“He has been training with us for a while, but the completion of his move has been delayed by a work permit.”
The arrival of the 26-year-old to Ferreira’s team has exhausted FC Cape Town’s foreign quota.
Yobou played 26 games in his first season at the then Benoni Premier United, who campaigned in the PSL during the 2006-07 season.
He was unfortunate not to move on after the sale which led to the birth of Thanda Royal Zulu and moved with businessman Dumisani Ndlovu to WP United after months of inactivity.
