The Brazilians confirmed the arrival of veteran Dutch defender Alje Schut earlier today, and he joins fellow new faces Edward Manqele, Emmanuel Baffor and Mumasi Abubakar at the club.
Arendse is hot property following Santos' relegation, and although Bloemfontein Celtic are also interested, it seems Sundowns have won the race.
"The Alje Schut deal is done and we are now expecting to conclude a deal for Wayne Arendse before we leave for our pre-season training in Swaziland this week," our source at Chloorkop says.
Meanwhile, Sundowns look set to release defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele, who has been linked with a move to Cape Town to join Chippa United.
