The Bafana Bafana squad to play against Ethiopia on June 3 and Botswana six days later in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers has been announced – Siyabonga Nomvete is back in the fold.

The squad is:

GOALKEEPERS - Itumeleng Khune (Kaizer Chiefs), Moeneeb Josephs (Orlando Pirates), Darren Keet (KV Kortrijk), Wayne Sandilands (Mamelodi Sundowns)

DEFENDERS - Bongani Khumalo (Tottenham Hotspur), Tsepo Masilela (Getafe), Siyabonga Sangweni (Orlando Pirates) Punch Masenamela (Mamelodi Sundowns), Siboniso Gaxa (Kaizer Chiefs), Anele Ngcongca (Racing Club Genk), Morgan Gould (SuperSport United), Erick Mathoho (Bloemfontein Celtic)

MIDFIELDERS - Steven Pienaar (Everton), Siphiwe Tshabalala, Reneilwe Letsholonyane (both Kaizer Chiefs), Thulani Serero (Ajax Amsterdam), Andile Jali, Oupa Manyisa (both Orlando Pirates), Teko Modise, Lebohang Mokoena (both Mamelodi Sundowns), Thanduyise Khuboni (Golden Arrows), May Mahlangu (Helsingborg IF), Mzikayise Mashaba (Free State Stars)

Balanced squad. I support the call-up of Nomvethe back to squad as he is obviously a lethal striker that Pitso and Perreira overlooked in the world cup games and could have made a difference should they have fielded him together with Bennie

I can see the Kompela effect- soon the old oats will be put to the gabbage where it belongs

What does DVD have to do to deserve being there- Tlou Sekolela of all people mara? Ritchie is a surprise, i guess there is more he is doing that I never noticed (big up to him for picking up his game, players who actually listen)

Chiefs will always make BB proud, slump or no slump- yes we celebrate our own, meritocratically!

I think it is a good squad, but why choose Mphela and Ritchie? Come on Pitso, lets leave favouritism aside... Mphela is not even playing for his team!!! Ramagalela from Leopards is better than choosing Mphela, and I don't know how you choose Ritchie over Phungwayo?

Good squad and those who are saying why is mphela in, they should apply to be bafana coaches. David Villa is selected in spain but did not play the whole season, miller is selected in England but hardly played for man city. All i am saying coaches have players that they believe in.

Sh!t, where is Erasmus? I agree, what has Khubomi done that is deserving of a place? I once said that madla Domkat will deputise Itu until 2050, I guess I was wrong because this madala is now deputising Keet and Sandiland, soon he will be deputising Ndwandwe!

there is less then 5 under 23s in the squad!!!!

Mashego?? Parker?? Segolela?? Ritchie?? Mphela?? Khumalo??

if Bhele is called up why not DVD?? Khumalo is not playing why not Matlaba then??
