Morte, an ex-Portuguese international, previously turned out for Arsenal and West Ham United in the UK. The 34-year old won the English Premier League in 1998 with Arsenal and reunites with ex-West Ham teammate Benni McCarthy at the club. Boa Morte was until recently in the books of Greek club, Larrissa but his contract was reportedly terminated at the European club and McCarthy convinced him to come down to South Africa. Khoza says: "I must thank Benni McCarthy, who made me aware of the desire of Luis to play for Pirates… He is now owned by the spiritual owners of the team." Boa Morte says: "I'm happy to be here to continue my football career and hopefully I will remain here for many seasons as long as I'm fit."

can't we atleast get a free soul ohhhh sorry player, entlek who is scouting for us?can't the guy convince those players who got 6 months left and sign pre- contracts with them if there is no money,
we could have brought khanyeza back, cheese boy likes chiefs, meyeni is free in 6 months,
and who can say what....i love our Dr Iron Duke....he knows what our spiritual owners wants to own.
while others look at his age, we look at the opportunities that will come with his presence.
With Morte, Bennie,Mhlongo n Legwathi we are certain that the boys will be inspired and will learn from those who played at the highest level n locally.
Morte, do what Benni did, score goals n then goes the noise.
Any club would choose Morte over Majoro, Parker or Kaizer lipstick.
He does n't have to be taught anything, he is a ready made, that need fitness.
