Asamoah: Ghana will be 'dangerous' for anyone

Kwadwo Asamoah reckons the 2012 Nations Cup is the most open in years and says the Black Stars will be dangerous for anyone if they stick to their game plan.

Ghana are due to begin preparations for the competition in Rustenburg, South Africa next week as they go in search of a first title in thirty years.

And Asamoah, a key member for both club Udinese and country is keen to play his part in what he feels is the most open Nations Cup in years.

"We are a good team, without any phenomenon’s but with many quality players. If we are compact and gritty as [coach Goran] Stevanovic asks, we will be dangerous for anyone to play," he told Fifa.com.

Asamoah also refuses to label Ghana as favourites with many of the continent's big names missing and claims all sixteen participating teams have a chance of winning. "I do not see any favourite. We all start on the same level, so of course there could be a big surprise. I see a very balanced tournament."

"It is true that strong and successful teams will be missing, but it still won't be easy to win the continental tournament. Not even South Africa will be there, but there are always new teams who will make life hard for anyone. All the teams who qualified for the finals deserved it."
