KickOff.com has been reliably informed that the 2011 Nelson Mandela Challenge will take place in Port Elizabeth.
Safa CEO Robin Peterson said last week that the Association was likely to announce details regarding the match sometime this week, once the venue has been confirmed.
There is no word from Safa House yet regarding the match, but KickOff.com understands that the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth will host the clash, which will be the 17th edition of the Nelson Mandela Challenge.
The match has been pencilled in for Saturday, November 12.
Bafana Bafana will be playing the number-one ranked team in Africa, Ivory Coast, at this annual international football showpiece.
Peterson could not immediately be reached for comment.

Anyway, the most sensible thing that SAFA can do right now is to let Mashaba play his U23 side to prepare for the Olympic qualifier 'cause I doubt if Cote d'Ivoire will bring their full strenght side. Most of the playas who featured against Sierra L-should be given a long break to do some serious introspection before being allowed to rep. SA again. AMEN!
