Tsepo Masilela’s agent has brushed aside concerns that the Bafana Bafana left-back’s previous injury problems may scupper his move to Leicester City.
Having met up with Sven Goran Eriksson’s squad in Stockholm at the weekend, the 26-year-old had his medical on Monday afternoon and will find out the results tomorrow afternoon.
Ex-England coach Eriksson has expressed his concern that Masilela’s knee injury that sidelined him for four months last season may still be affecting him, but Mike Makaab has no doubts his client will get the green light.
“Football players all have injuries in their careers and that is inevitable - Tsepo has played close to 150 competitive games in the last three years so there is no doubt he is healthy to play football,” he tells KickOff.com.
“He’s doing his medicals as we speak and we are hoping to get the results by tomorrow afternoon.”
Reports in the UK have also linked Leicester with a move for Liverpool reject Paul Konchesky, with Swiss international Bruno Berner also a candidate for the left-back berth.
But Makaab believes a year-long loan from Israeli champions Maccabi Haifa will allow Masilela the opportunity to prove himself.
“I’m not sure what they are doing – all I’m interested in is Tsepo Masilela and I can tell you that he will be an absolute sensation in the Championship,” he says.
Makaab’s company Prosport International are also involved with the deal involving Knowledge Musona’s transfer to Germans TFG Hoffenheim. With the Zimbabwe international having left South Africa on Monday, Makaab expects a decision to made by Thursday at the latest.
