Only hours after telling KickOff.com that he was dedicating both 2010 Safa Footballer of the Year award and his Telkom Cup winners medal to his ailing mother, Rebecca, Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala is in mourning.
According to Amakhosi website, Shabba’s mother died on Sunday morning.
In an interview with KickOff.com after the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates at Soccer City, Shabba disclosed that his mother was admitted to hospital last week and was battling with illness.
He had said he was hoping for her to make a speedy recovery.
Details of the funeral arrangements for the Bafana Bafana star’s mother will be announced in due course.
KickOff magazine staff would like to convey their sincerest sympathy to the player, his family and their friends.
