May Mahlangu still turning on the magic

Posted: 1 November 2010 Time: 13:01

South African midfielder May Mahlangu continues to turn on the magic in Sweden as his club Helsinborgs IF nears being crowned the Allsvenskan champions for the first time since 1999.

Mahlangu was last night again among the scorers as Helsingborgs ran out 4-2 winners away to Halmstad in a game that they had to take three points to re-open a three point lead over rivals Malmo FF who have a game in hand.   The former Stars of Africa midfielder slammed home after 23 minutes after brace hero Rasmus Jonsson had opened the scoring with Alexander Gerndt adding the fourth while Halmstad replied courtesy of an Anselmo double later on.   Mahlangu now has three League goals, having also scored a fortnight ago in another crucial 3-1 away win at Elfsborg.   With one game remaining Helsingborgs sit at the top of the standings with 64 points three points ahead of Malmo FF who have a game in hand.   Should Helsingborgs finish off their season on Sunday with a home win against Kalmar and Malmo falter in one of their remaining two games then they will be crowned champions.   After a difficult start to the season Mahlangu has held onto a regular place in the team starting 18 of the 29 league games that Helsinborgs have played this season.   Helsinborgs are also through to the final of the Svenska Cupen (Swedish Cup) where they will play Nkosinathi Nhleko's former club Hammarby in the final on November 13.   Meanwhile, Jabu Mahlangu's club Osters IF won 2-0 in the first leg of the relegation play-offs away against Qviding FIF to move closer to retaining their status in the Swedish second tier League.

I wonder what this boy has to do before he receives a call-up...I thought days of agents bribing national selectors were over....PITSO, I trust you will call this boy,Davide Somma,Dean Furman,Matthew Pattison,Dylon Claasen,Kamohelo Mokotjo and Bevan Fransman in the next match against USA...or you just want to hang on to the foundation laid by Parreira cause you are afraid you may fail if you build a new-look team. We are growing tired of some old faces in your team, we need fresh legs and new faces. You got more than 6 months before your next competitive match or qualifiers. BE BRAVE BROER!!!
