Suspension may cost Falcons World Cup place

Suspension may cost Super Falcons World Cup place

Posted: 5 October 2010 Time: 11:51 am

Serial continental champions, the Super Falcons will become the first major casualty of Nigeria's suspension by FIFA.

The senior women's national team will miss out on next year's FIFA Women's World Cup unless the suspension is lifted before the start of the African Women Championships on October 31.

The tournament also serves as qualifiers for the World Cup, with the two finalists advancing to compete against the rest of the world in Germany next June.

If the Super Falcons, who have qualified for, and represented Africa at every FIFA Women's World Cup since 1991, do not take part in the African tournament, they will be automatically knocked out of the World Cup.

I think we have other sports that need to be devloped lets leave football and develope other sports that need governement interference. We need to develope our economy, power, and educational sector which is the pivot of any economy. Lets us not be carried away by football. Every Nigeria need to have access to good education, drinking water, food and medical help when needed. Please football is not our problem. By the time you starve them of fund the will begin to think. We have a constitution that must be defended. If fifa want to suport coruption let them start in Switzerland not in Nigeria. Fifa should tell us not to try corrupt officials that have stolen public money not to be arrested and try for corruption because the are NFF official. I think at this point fifa need rethink because more interference is on the way coming

I am still at a loss as to why Sani Lulu's mother was released by those kidnappers. Dont they feel the pain Sani Lulu and his gang has caused millions of Nigerians, abi their kidnapping is just to enrich their pockets.

Why did they not give him everlasting pain? NFF members are laughing and enjoying life and ordinary Nigerians who love the game of football are mentally tortured, this is not fair.

All Kidnappers why are you so heartless? Why are NFF people still crusing around town and mocking us?

i must say that the ban though not good for nigeria but it is a welcome developement. i am very sorry to say this, that fifa is also the cause of the fall of football in africa and nigeria in particular. it is very clear that both the past and present football administrators in nigeria have all failed, not only that they are not competent but corrupt. they dont have the vision nor focus for ur football. please i pray that one day another football governing bodies with come up and challenge fifa's football monopoly

@ Excel:

So if an African goes to the USA, he/she must be a slave? How retarded!
You remind me of a story long I was told long ago in 1976, "A Fox was trying to pluck a fig. No matter how hard it tried, there was no success. At the end it left in frustration and said, why am I even bothering myself, the fig is not even sweet"

The story explains your pathetic situation. You are not in the USA. Eventhough you want people to believe you dont love to be there, in your heart you want to. And because you cannot get there, you want to demonize it.

Wake up man, people in the United States live in a society where the freedom cannot be rivaled by any nation on earth. Everything is well organised and works for the betterment of everybofy that lives there.

Let me ask you this,
1. Are you free where you are?
2. Do you enjoy uninterrupted electricity supply?
3. Can you get a job without being asked your religion?
4. Can you get a job without being asked your state of origin or local govt area?
5. Do you own a car?
6. Are you paid regularly from your job?
7. Can you feed yourself 3 times a day?
8. Are you really educated?
