Bafana squad to face Ghana

New Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane has announced the 22-man squad to play Ghana at Soccer City in an international friendly.

Bafana take on the Black Stars on August 11 and it promises to be an entertaining match with the West Africans bringing most of the players that helped the team reach the World Cup quarterfinals.

"The squad I have selected will reflect my vision. The core of the team from the World Cup remains. I'm not making a lot of changes because I have only been in this job for 22 days and no games have been played yet," Mosimane says.

"I expect lots of commitment from these players to show that they are ready to play for South Africa," 'Jingles' adds.

Mosimane, though, says the squad reflects his vision. However, he is coy during questioning as to why there are a few old men in the squad and no specific youngsters.

The squad:

Goalkeepers - Itumeleng Khune and Moeneeb Josephs.

Defenders - Siboniso Gaxa, Morgan Gould, Bevan Fransman, Tsepo Masilela, Aaron Mokoena, Anele Ngcongca, Siyabonga Sangweni and Innocent Mdledle.

Midfielders - Siphiwe Tshabalala, Daine Klate, Teko Modise, Kagisho Dikgacoi, Thanduyise Khuboni, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Steven Pienaar, MacBeth Sibaya and Surprise Moriri.

Strikers - Katlego Mphela, Sthembiso Ngcobo and Bernard Parker.

Good selection this is continuity in action! Most of these players were in camp with BB before the world cup 2010. Lets give the man a chance to show us what he has learn from the coaches worked with. By looking @ the players selected there is mixture of attacking and deffensive players. What aproach is gonna use knowing that Ghana is very strong at the back and more offensive!

the problem when it comes to Teko is his discipline and wealth.

People are used to stars misbehaving refer Doc Khumalo,Pule,Khanye,Nunence,Vilakazi,Leremi,Ngobese,Mbuthu,Naughty etc

But Teko is different: He is a special one, married,took an HIV test in public, has companies,well off in terms of wealth(assets and cash assets), lots of endorsements and lots of respect, luv his mother and take care of him.

I must salute General NAVIGATOR for his behaviour off the field because on the field he is just a genius.

Guys lets give credit where its due, even Betty McCarthy said Teko is a different breed of a player.

I beleive 'Mbazo' is our best international defender, unfourtunately the other boys (your Thwala/Pa/Masilela/Moon/Khumalo etc) do not even understand what the word 'defend' means. They just run up and down thereby exposing Mbazo.U can put any best defender in the world in that position, he will look like imbuzi because literally he will be defending alone. The situation is made worse by an in-effective midfield marshalled by Teko, when we have Pattison.
