Zoran Filipovic to coach Golden Arrows

Posted: 8 July 2010 Time: 13:52

Golden Arrows are set to announce former Serbian national team player Zoran Filipovic as their new coach.

Filipovic, who has also coached the Montenegro national team, has already arrived in the country and is set to start his new job with Abafana Bes'thende on Monday.

Arrows boss Mato Madlala refused to comment about the arrival of the Serbian coach except to say that information pertaining to their new coach will be on the club's website next week.

"I will only announce the coach next week and at this moment I want to be sure of the facts about the person that we intend to employ as our new coach.

"You can check our website either on Sunday evening or Monday morning next week," she added.

@Reliable:

THEY are busy abusing the term "trend setters". They don't understand the meaning. Such a shame.....

@Filipovic
Your surname reminds me of Chelsea's Abramovic. Dont worry maybe one day you would be rich as he is.

the problem is SA is that soccer administartors put their interests before that of a country. Right now we are faced with a situation where SAFA does not have enough pool to select a strong local technical committee for the national team. If we are really serious about football, where is SAFA supposed to get a competent local coach if we have more than 70% of the PSL teams coached by foreign coaches?
As for Serbian, i think there is too many of them in our soccer, and you ask your self why? What has Serbia archieved in football?
