NFF receive World Cup grant

NFF receive World Cup grant

Posted: 10 June 2010 Time: 10:44 am

Nigeria's World Cup grant of N900 million has now been received by the Nigeria Football Federation as the team get set to play their first match of the 2010 World Cup.

Additionally, the NFF have sourced for money to pay the players their 25 per cent of the pot from the FIFA World Cup participation grant of $8 million.

Officials of the NFF secretariat, including Assistant General Secretary (Finance and Admin) Musbau Kayode came into South Africa on Wednesday and top officials confirmed that the team came with the full government grant.

"In addition, we have also sourced and got the 8 million US dollars that we are due to get from FIFA after the tournament.

"We want to pay the players what is due to them to avoid any issues of finance during the tournament," officials told KickOffNigeria.com on Thursday.

The players were given a day off on Wednesday and went shopping at the Richards Bay Mall, wheer they were mobbed by locals wanting photographs and autographs.

They will depart for Johannesburg on Friday ahead of their opening game against Argentina on Saturday.

This is what Lulu, Ogunjobi and Ojo-Oba have long been waiting for. The whole money will varnish very soon without anybody asking them about it. What a corrupt nation.

@Ken,I think you are unastabel and ur actions can be likened to those who usually visit Yaba on the left side that is you are a mad man.You just shot yourself in the leg with your comment. You mentioned Luku and Ogunjobi as a currupt people then what has the generalization has to do about currupt nation.I hope your father is not currupt as well because those who make curruption their sing song has been found wanting in it in recent time.

You better retract your statement about currupt nation and get out of this forum with the myopic view that you usually air here.Idiot!

@end....cant you read well? You dumb ass, there is a difference between Ken and Kent. Kent made that comments not Ken.
My brother even though I do not subscribe entirely to Kent call the whole nigeria a corrupt nation. His point is valid when you think of Ibori,IBB,Tinubu,Ogunjobi,Lulu et al. I feel what kent meant is that we have more corrupt officials than any other nation.
@end...having distinguished for you the difference between Kent an kEN...IT IS OBVIOUS THAT YOU ARE A MAD MAN.Because mad men does not know what they call differences. poor ajegunle idiot/

Thank God they got the money at last. I know already that there are some pressing needs that is already in waiting, like the Arik air bills and the rest. They should start sorting them out immediately and same time not forgetting the players winning bonuses cos i know they will earn it come saturday.

I rest my case

KON why did you put the picture of this innocent man as caption? is not the one collecting the money now!let us see the photos of the "thiefs" that will soon steal the money. as a matter of fact, i want to see the current pictures of Ogujobi, Lulu and Olajire. oh yes! i saw Ogunjobi during the fracas in our match against Koreans talking on the phone.the man has changed alot[stolen money dey good for body].

General question. What is at stake apart from the cup and prestige,[monetry wise]for this WC. I dont see why we should not benefit financially after spending all this money to prosecute this WC. Other countries make profit. i know for sure, America will not participate if they will lose at the end of the day.

Make nff use the cash properly. I dey see many of d nff crooks here. House maids and concubines they among the nff crew. Make our team no loose focus. If SE survive the 1st 45mins I see no reason y argies go win that game. But make them limit players from all frivolities. Our players go motherless babies, orphanage homes, shopping etc and if this 2 much some of our players go sneak babes enta their hotel room eg Yakubu(i hope say we neva 4gt)

@Ken first and foremost I apologise for the missup with your name but yet you went too far after knowing that it was a blunder on my part then you would have displayed maturity by just telling me my msitake than going that far.Any way I won't return your war words only because I made that stupid missup and I have to show you that I am more matured than you have displayed. But again I want people for follow up the happenings in SA right now arm robbers everwhere can you guys see that these people are not in possition to abuse Nigeria.Though I frown at the idea of many of our leaders has Ken have said but yet it is not enough for any man with his heat upright to tagge Nigeria a corrupt nation. The fact that one member of your family is imbecile does not make everybody in your family imbecile.
