Blatter to inspect 3 WC stadiums

Sepp Blatter inspects World Cup stadiums

Posted: 25 May 2010 Time: 09:06 am

Fifa president Sepp Blatter will visit World Cup stadiums in Polokwane, Nelspruit and Port Elizabeth this weekend to inspect venues he has yet to see.

Fifa said on Monday that Blatter will travel to the Peter Mokaba and Mbombela stadiums, and the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth - all three of which are struggling with poor ticket sales.   Blatter will be joined on a two-day tour by Fifa secretary general Jerome Valcke, local organising committee chairman Irvin Khoza and chief executive Danny Jordaan. He will unveil a commemorative plaque at each of the stadiums.   Last week Valcke said Fifa has problems with disappointing ticket sales in the three cities.

Bring other games to Durban and Cape town, we will still buy out all the tickets, even in one day, those stadiums are like in a desert, they cannot fill stadiums with their population on less tha 50 000 here in KZN we have 11 million people and in Cape Town there are 6 million people, MOVE THE GAMES TO OTHER STADIUMS and live them with one or two games pe stadium then they will fill the stadiums

DEAR MR BLATTER,
FIRST OF ALL MBOMBELA AND ITS SORROUNDING AREAS ARE WILLING TO FILL UP THE STADIUMS BUT HERE IS THE STUMBLING BLOCK ON IT

1.TICKETS COME AND GO ON THE TICKETING CENTERS (catergory 4)
2.ONLY US WHO ARE IN AND ARROUND NELSPRUIT WHO DO MANAGE TO PURCHASE THOSE TICKETS THAT ON THE MARKET
3.THE IS ONLY ONE TICKETING CENTER FOR THE WHOLE OF MPUMALANGA LOWVELD, YES FNB IS ALSO CELLING BUT ALSO I DON'T THINK THAT SERVICE THERE IS UP TO SCRATCH
4.WE HAVE THE WHOLE OF NKOMAZI AREA THAT IS ALSO WILLING TO BE PART OF THIS GLOBAL EVENT BUT WHERE CAN THE GET THE TICKETS FAST AND EASY?
5.DID ANYBADY EVER SAW FNB IN BADPLAAS? (talking about the main branch not atm)NO, SO FIFA AND SAFA ARE MOURNING ABOUT US BY NOT FILLING UP MBOMBELA BUT THE SAME PEOPLE WHO MUST FILL UP THE STADIUM THEY HAVE NO PLACE TO BUT TICKRTS

FIFA the Euphoria of SWC is all over these cities. But here is something to ponder on: How do u sell out a matches like Switzerland Vs Chile, South Korea Vs Greece? These are minnows in the world cup. Ivory Coast Vs Portugal, England Vs Slovenia & Germany Vs Serbia are almost sold out. Be grateful that we are trying to fill up our stadium for teams means nothing to the South African public.

@Fortune

My brother it doesnt work like that. Yes they r strugglin to fill the stadia's bt remember most of the games going there r in my opinion "boring games". Most ppl dont want to c boring games.

@Velaphi big up to u my man. Solutions r needed not other ppl to say games must b moved to other cities. Im from Sharpeville n works @Bloemfontein. Bt I hav bought tickets for all Bafana games plus 2 other games in Bloem. If I was in either of this stadias I would hv atleast bought 2 tickets - for the love of the game
