Ghana has what it takes - Mphahlele

Amajita captain Ramahlwe Mphahlele believes that Ghana has got what it takes to win the Fifa Under-20 World Cup Final against Brazil in Egypt on Friday.

Ghana beat Hungary 3-2 whilst Brazil defeated Costa Rica 1-0 to qualify for the Final.

Led by skipper Andre Ayew, the Black Satellites have been marvel to watch since the beginning of the tournament and Mphahlele, whose side lost 2-1 to Ghana during the knockout stages, says they possess all the attributes to beat Brazil and bring the Cup home to Africa for the first time.

“Ghana remains the best team in the tournament. They are a quality side who have stamina and run the whole 90 minutes.

“We are the only side that forced them to extra-time. I spoke to them after they beat us and told them that they remain our hope to win the Cup for Africa. I am happy that they have done well and qualified for the Final.

“I don’t see Brazil stopping them and we wish them all the best in the Final.”

South African based defender Jonathan Mensah, who missed the semifinal against Hungary due to suspension, will be back to boost Ghana’s defence on Friday.

Is it about winning or experience? I agree with Dr Khumalo that Ghanian players are overage. If you look at european counterparts, you will see that they are still young. But ghananian the same thing cant be said about them. They are cheating, they cheat period

Hello PUK! Observers are worried!If Ghanians according to you and Dr Khumalo are cheating why should you compare them to their European counterpart and African? Ayew is 18 and his Bro'er Jordan is 16 in M****ille and you? Compare them to Africans and not Europens and wish them all the BEST for the continent sake! and the senoir side are also overage!!!Qualified§

Mhahlele u are disapointing me,u let in the Ghanian team equalise whilst we were beating them and now u show us why u allow them to score because u are the fan of that Ghanian under 20 sis Captain

PUKI: 2009-10-16 09:03

Like it or BAWA, Ghananian players are all above 20. They will win this tournament, but failed dismisaly in 2014 FIFA world cup in Brazil. These players (Current squad in Egypt) will be dead by then

@PUKI
Will u shut up and stop complaining. Why are u feeling so jealous? U r complaining as if ur own amajita players are truely under 20 years of age, the likes of ur long head captain Mphalele, Kermit erasmus and the rest. I dont know why u gyz dont mind ur business. Instead of u sulking about ur team, u r condemning another that has done the continent proud. And who told u europeans are not over aged. I think you should go back and watch crefully the matches of this tournament, then you'll know that its a universal norm. PUNK!!!
