Dean Henderson (left), who is out on loan at Nottingham Forest, reportedly wants to leave Manchester United permanently at the end of the season.

With a Manchester United star reportedly set to leave the club at the end of the season, two of the Red Devils' biggest rivals are said to be keen on swooping in for the player.

There is a growing list of stars who could leave United at the end of the 2022/23 campaign, with the likes of Brandon Williams, Scott McTominay, and Harry Maguire among those linked with an exit.

While the aforementioned trio remain with the first team at Carrington, other potential departures are already out on loan at other clubs for the duration of this campaign, including goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who was shipped out to Nottingham Forest in a temporary deal in July 2022.

The one-capped England star, who joined United's youth academy in 2011, is now said to be ready end his relationship with the 13-time Premier League champions for good.

Per Football Insider journalist Pete O'Rourke: "The on-loan Nottingham Forest goalkeeper has accepted that a return to Man United is now extremely unlikely, and the 26-year-old is pushing for a permanent move this summer.

"[He's] not willing to play second fiddle, Henderson wants a new club willing to hand him regular first-team minutes so he can force his way back into the England set-up."

The shot-stopper impressed during a successful loan spell with Sheffield United in the 2019/20 campaign, but his hopes of becoming No. 1 at Old Trafford the following season were quickly dashed as then-manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preferred David de Gea as his starting 'keeper.

Soon after making the loan switch to Forest last year, Henderson hit out at his club, claiming that he had been lied to about getting more game time and that this left him "fuming".

Having made 20 appearances for Forest this season, it is reported that the Englishman is not short of potential suitors, with London giants Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur both said to be keeping a close eye on his situation at Old Trafford with a view to making a move to secure his services.
