Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe has broken his silence on his recent "dig" at Neymar.

Following the Ligue 1 side's 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie, the Frenchman insisted that the team needs "everyone to eat and sleep well. We're going to work, get everyone back and get there to qualify".

This comment came days after reports that Neymar could be in hot water as his party lifestyle threatened to lead to legal action, with a local mayor requesting that the superstar to stop throwing wild parties at his home.

The Brazilian had been also spotted in a fast food store and attended a late-night poker tournament hours after that defeat to the Bavarians, leading many to believe that Mbappe's comments had been aimed at Neymar.

Rumours suggest that the France international and the Selecao talisman have a broken relationship, with the former believed to be have pleaded with the PSG hierarchy to sell the latter before the 2022/23 campaign kicked off.

However, following PSG's thrilling 4-3 win over LOSC Lille on Sunday, Mbappe insisted that his remarks were not directed at Neymar alone.

"I saw people talking about Ney, about what happened," the forward said, per Prime Video.

"It wasn't a dig against Neymar. In the situation, a dig is the last thing we need.

"It really was a piece of advice for everyone.

"Because, like I said, when we have everyone available, as was the case at the start of the match, the opposition can be worried.

"I hope Ney comes back quickly because he's a vital player for us.”

Both Mbappe (twice) and Neymar got on the scoresheet in their victory on Sunday, while Lionel Messi sealed the win with a last-minute free-kick.

Neymar, though, left the pitch in tears in the 51st minute due to a sprained ankle, with Les Parisiens confirming that the player will go for a scan on Tuesday in order to determine the extent of any damage.
