Former Orlando Pirates attacker Steve Lekoelea believes the Buccaneers and Mamelodi Sundowns will face off in the MTN8 final.

Both Pirates and Sundowns go into the second leg of the cup competition semi-final carrying an advantage following the weekend results.

Sundowns played to a 1-1 draw with rivals Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on Saturday, before Pirates rallied from behind to defeat ten-man Stellenbosch FC in Cape Town.

"That's how a big team like Orlando Pirates should play," Lekoelea tells KickOff.

"You can't be a big team but always play to a draw or lose your matches. Big teams control a match, they don't defend and hope for a counterattack.

"Pirates is a big company, supporters if they don't get a win they get angry. Pirates supporters are also coaches, including the people who are working in the office they are also coaches.

"Stellenbosch they always give Pirates tough time, always. But what I can tell you is Pirates they are already in the final. Stellenbosch can't bounce back from this one.

"Pirates' win on the weekend has put Stellenbosch under enormous pressure.

"It's obvious though Orlando Pirates are going to face Mamelodi Sundowns in the final.

"Chiefs will not beat Sundowns, they are on another level Sundowns, they are in the Premier League level, they should be playing in England."

The second leg will be played on the weekend of the 23rd and 24th of September.
