Mamelodi Sundowns ambassador Tiyani Mabunda and Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino have something quit astonishing in common and here's a look what it is!

The story

For those who do not invest enough interest in knowing more about footballers' lives off the pitch, you might be surprised by the things that are of significant value to some players, including their relationship with God.

Faith is a huge part of many people's lives and ballers are no exception to this but one must admit that it is always a bit astonishing when you find out that a player is a respected preacher at church. This is one thing that Downs legend Mabunda and Brazilian international Firmino have in common.

The Brazilian forward is a devoted Christian and regularly attends church services alongside his wife and three daughters. His spouse can often be seen on the pulpit or on stage delivering heartfelt sermons alongside the No.9.

One thing that is certain is that this dismisses some stereotypes that Brazilian players like to dance and party when off the pitch. However, Firmino seems to be an good example of how such a stereotype is widely misguided.

Mabunda, on the other hand, is sufficiently known for his faith, and during his playing career, he was often noted for holding a prayer after each game. Earlier this week, the former midfielder was named the new resident pastor of The Jesus Nation Church Pretoria CBD.

Golden Arrows star Gladwin Shitolo also deserves an honourable mention, albeit we cannot confirm that he too is a pastor.
