TS Galaxy star Bernard Parker and his wife Wendy go a really long way back and their journey from the bottom to the upper echelons is quite fascinating to see. Here's a look!
The story
The power couple have been going strong for well over a decade and they look to have done a pretty solid job at maintaining their tight-knit family.
Having married in the early 2010s, it is quite an admirable feat for the Parker family and perhaps some will be hoping that one of their two boys will one day follow in the footsteps of Die Hond and become a professional footballer someday. And besides, who could ever not want to witness a football dynasty, similar to the iconic Maldini football family from Italy.

To not digress any further, a closer look at how far back Wendy and the striker go will surely warm a few hearts, as the two boast the kind of longevity many romantics hope for.
An underrated career
Admittedly, Parker often does not get the credit he really deserves. He began as a prolific scorer for Thanda Royal Zulu after breaking through at Mamelodi Sundowns in 2004. His stint with Amabhubesi earned him his first international transfer, as he joined Red Star Belgrade in 2009.
That would be followed up productive spell with FC Twente and a short loan move to Greek outfit Panserraikos. The 36-year-old boats an Eredivisie title and two domestic trophies in the Netherlands.
While he was sometimes met with insults in the latter stages of his Kaizer Chiefs career, he is undeniably a legend of the club after spending over 10 seasons at Naturena. He won four trophies with Amakhosi and had his best season in 2013/14, where he won the Golden Boot award.
While some continue to only whisper about his achievements, the Boksburg native deserves to be spoken of in an esteemed fashion whether it is for his contribution on the pitch or the role model he has been away from the field.
