All footballers grow up supporting a certain team but only a few get to play for their dream side which is why we taking a look at 10 players who supported their club's rivals growing up including Kevin De Bruyne and Harry Kane. Check it out! 

What Happened?

Kane recently became Tottenham Hotspur's all-time top goalscorer but he grew up supporting Arsenal.The striker joined the Arsenal youth academy when he was eight but he was released a year later for being “a bit chubby” and not “very athletic”, according to a academy director at the time. 

As they say, the rest was history. Surprisingly Barcelona Iniesta also supported Real Madrid and his story is interesting. The legendary midfielder AS a young kid played for his local club Albacete who were thrashed 7-0 by Barcelona in a fixture. This left him livid so he switched from Barca to Real Madrid. 

Kevin De Bruyne has been a shining light in City's fight for multiple league titles against Liverpool. Funny enough, the Belgian loved the Reds growing up and even slept in a Michael Owen shirt and Liverpool bedding. It is no doubt that he has changed his mind by now.

Chelsea legend John Terry was born into a family of Manchester United fans and he followed suit. Sir Alex Ferguson attempted to sign Terry as a 14-year-old. But the youngster had already made up his mind to join the London side.

Gareth Bale who recently retired was also a Gunners fan and watched them growing up before establishing himself at White Hart Lane.
