Uruguayan baller Gaston Sirino has been given the greenlight to represent South Africa after receiving his papers.

The 31-year-old midfielder completed five years in South Africa last month and qualifies to represent Bafana through naturalisation by residence.

According to the CAF Champions League group stage registrations, Sirino is using a South African passport and is captured under the names, Leandro Rodriguez Sirino.

Here's how the readers responded on the "Sirino now eligible for Bafana Bafana after getting papers" story:

"Ah, we already have Lorch so Sirino can go play for Haiti," says Slow_Poison.

"At 31 years old, we don't need him. Besides, he is not even a regular at Sundowns," says mogaleramolotja.

"My only worry is that if Sirino is selected for Bafana Bafana, this will encourage players from countries like Zimbabwe and Nigeria to follow suit. We must stop recruiting foreigners into our national team.

"Anyway, it is not like Sirino is such a special player. In my honest opinion, he is just an ordinary player," says timzito.

"That's good news because at the next Afcon qualifiers, Bafana Bafana jerseys will be donned by the whole Sundowns team and there is no need for selection headaches for the Bafana Bafana coach as Sundowns is only changing jerseys and a coach, that's all," says bhekilekhuleni6.

"Bafana X2 is more of a political party than a soccer team. It ruins careers more than they say Mamelodi Sundowns does. I wouldn't advise any player to play for Bafana X2. Once they lose, they will blame the selection of players like him, those who aren't South African by birth. The EFF will take it to Parliament and hurl all insults at the President," says butimabuya.

"I can't wait to watch Wiliams, Sirino, Zwane, Mokoena, Mailula, Mudau, De Reuk, Kekana and Modiba in Bafana starting lineup," Mpho P.

Read: Chiefs pressure too much for some players? Zwane responds

After releasing a host of players last season, it's safe to say that Amakhosi are in a transitional period under head coach Arthur Zwane.

The Glamour Boys have struggled for consistency this season, failing to string more than three wins in a row.

When asked on whether Chiefs' inconsistency is down to the new look squad struggling to deal with the pressure of playing for the club, Zwane mentioned that several of his players are still trying to adapt to life at Naturena.

Here's how the fans responded to "Chiefs pressure too much for some players? Zwane responds" story:

"There is no pressure coach, just instil discipline and a winning attitude onto them, otherwise you are the one putting too much pressure on them and that is why they are failing to perform," says peter95157.

"Stop telling those players that Chiefs is a big team because you are not winning anything, at least they will be at ease," says ngwanamoshate.70.

"They changing more than 8 -10 players every season but no results. So why should the players have pressure as they are just another top 8 team," says 999@MKM.

"Khune and Mathoho should be the ones under pressure because they know how to lift a trophy, the rest are innocent," says ngwanamoshate.70.
