Domenech refuses to shake Parreira's hand

France head coach Raymond Domenech brought a controversial end to his six-year rein by refusing to shake the hand of South Africa counterpart Carlos Alberto Parreira.

At the finish of the 2-1 victory for Bafana Bafana — which saw both nations crash out of the World Cup — the ex-Olympique Lyonnais supremo swept aside etiquette to ignore Parreira’s handshake advance. The snub is rumoured to have centred on the Brazilian's previous declaration that France did not deserve to qualify for the tournament.

This afternoon's Group A finale symbolised the climax of the 58-year-old's crisis-hit spell in charge of Les Bleus, with former Girondins de Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc to take control after the competition.

Despite guiding the nation to the World Cup 2006 final, repeated splits within the squad came to a head this week when Nicolas Anelka was sent home after verbally abusing the boss.

The French side caused controversy by sitting out training on Sunday, with a number of the rumoured ringleaders such as skipper Patrice Evra forced to watch today's match from the substitutes' bench.

this French coach is lacking when it comes to human relations, that is why he could not unite his squad into one family. It is a good thing he will be replaced after the world cup, this sport can do without him.

That we have crashed out of the tnament, the debate to be opened is whether we still need a foreign coach or not. I'd've loved that Perreira stays for continuity sake and if he can't let Pitso takes over. But another local coach, no! This thing about understanding our culture is just nonsense man!

Whether we like it or not Parrera changed the team from what it was under Santana into a better team, and in anyway we never deserved to play in the World Cup for staters as we were hand held to the tournament instead of qualifying and being there on merit. Had it not for us being host's do you think we would even be there????

We must just stop pointing fingers and just see the truth, because from the current generation of players only a handful are real genuine soccer players and players who can perform at that level.Even if it was Sir Alex Ferguson or Jose Mourinho coaching BB we would still not make it into the second round. It time we develop a team now for the coming AFCON and onwards. What happened to the under 20 squad that competed in U20 Championships in Egypt? We can build up from that team.

Trully South African.

Gavin Must take over. Hes the only coach in this country who plays winning game even though its not pretty coz we need to win games for us to go to Brazil and he also knows how to bring in youngsters into the game. Henry thought he would get a lot of hand ***** lol
