Paris Saint-Germain vice-captain fears Neymar exit after UEFA Champions League failure

PSG suffered a last-16 exit at the hands of champions Real Madrid, who convincingly dispatched the Ligue 1 big-spenders with a 5-2 aggregate scoreline.

And now their one of their key players, Marquinhos, is concerned his compatriot will be lured to Los Blancos, who spectacularly dumped them out of the competition they were touted as favourites to win.

The £200m (R3.3b) off-season arrival from FC Barcelona was absent during the second-leg defeat at the Parc des Princes after undergoing surgery on his right foot last week.

"Neymar is a vital player for us, and he should have faith in our project, our team and our players," the Brazil international defender told L'Equipe. "It's time to stick together, glory will come, despite all the frustration."

Prior to his season-ending injury, Neymar scored 29 goals and registered 19 assists in 30 games across all competitions.
