Al Ahly and head coach Jose Riveiro have made a surprise decision on the team's star striker ahead of their pre-season camp in Tunisia.
Striker Wissam Abou Ali has been linked with a departure from Al Ahly after impressing at the FIFA Club World Cup, where he scored three goals in the group stage.

However, the Palestinian striker was not part of the travelling squad that landed in Turkey for their pre-season camp.
It has been revealed Abu Ali did not attend training in an apparent attempt to force a move elsewhere after receiving an offer from a Major League Soccer side.
Th African giants confirmed in a statement that the club along with Riveiro decided that the striker should not join the squad.
“Wissam has an offer from a US club that didn’t meet Ahly’s terms. Until now, he remains under contract, but he missed training and the club has enforced its internal regulations,” sporting director Mohamed Youssef told Ahly TV.
