In our latest feature of Where Are They Now, KickOff catches up with former Orlando Pirates midfield sensation Thapelo Liau on his life after football.
Liau will always be regarded as one of the most skilful footballers to be born in South Africa.
Who am I?
"My name is Thapelo Liau, I was born in Phiri, Soweto. I grew both in Soweto and Khubetsoana in Maseru.
"I attended my high school in Lesotho Sacred Heart High School and Reasoma High School in Soweto."
My playing days
"I played for Bloemfontein Celtic and Ria Stars where I became their top goalscorer for two consecutive seasons, Orlando Pirates where I won the league in the 2002/03 season, (as well as) Moroka Swallows."

Did I make money from soccer?
"I wouldn't say I made money in football, I played for the love and passion for the game.
"During our era, there wasn't a lot of money in football, but like I said, we were more driven by the passion."
Where I'm living?
"I'm staying in Gauteng, Johannesburg."
Jobs since playing the game?
"I'm currently running my company Liau Holdings, we are into supply, construction, and events, e.g. Soccer development events.
"We conduct soccer clinics and life skills for kids, scout talent, and give it exposure."
If I could do it again...
"If I could turn (back) the hands of time and go back to football, I would gladly do it again. Football for me, it's part of my DNA.
"I honestly enjoyed playing this beautiful game. I miss scoring goals and entertaining my fans. I miss the sound of vuvuzelas and supporters singing for us at the stadium."
