Sangweni spent the second half of last season on loan to Golden Arrows, helping them gain promotion to the Absa Premiership.
Pirates have so far loaned out another three players to Arrows – Mwape Musonda, Gladwin Shitilo and Philani Zikalala – while Mbongeni Mzimela has been loaned to AmaZulu, and Siyanda Ngubo, Letsi Koapeng and Masalaelo Seanego to Royal Eagles.
Sangweni was part of the Durban Under-19 International Tournament under the watch of Thabo Senong that won't the bronze medal last this past weekend, but is unsure what the future holds at Pirates.
"As of now I'm not sure if they are gonna loan me or what,” he tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"I have a five-year deal with Pirates and if don't go out on loan it's fine because I can play in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge and prove myself there."
It could prove the perfect avenue for Sangweni after Thabo Rakhale and Menzi Masuku proved their value there before breaking into the first team.
