Booysen started training with Usuthu two weeks ago with the view to winning a contract with the Durban side and impressed new coach Jozef Vukusic and his technical team.
The Cape Town-born defender has joined AmaZulu as a free agent after parting ways with Kaizer Chiefs at the end of last season.
According to a source close to Usuthu, Booysen has penned a deal until the end of the season.
"AmaZulu are set to unveil Booysen after reaching an agreement with the player," the source confirms to snl24.com/kickoff.
"The deal is running up until the end of the season with the option to renew."
