The 23-year-old took to social media to describe it as a new chapter in his journey, and fellow players jumped at the chance to wish him all of the best.

"Congrats Mr 1 touch 2 touch 3 is too many," said Khanyiso Mayo.

"Future????," wrote Zakhele Lepasa in a short but impactful comment.

"Go shine my brother??," commented Supersport United's Luke Fleurs.

"Congratulations my brother and the best of luck to you and your new family," Siyanda Xulu.

Le Roux joins his new club on a three-year deal after spending three and a half seasons in Sweden.

"Luke is the type of player we have been looking for for a long time to complement our midfield," technical director Jasper van Leeuwen told the club's official website.

"He primarily plays from control, but also chooses his moments to get involved in the attack. Luke holds his own physically, has a lot of dynamics, is skilled on the ball and has good insight into the game. The best summary is an all-round and box-to-box midfielder.

"Luke has gradually developed into an excellent player in Sweden, who is now also an international player for his country. The fact that he is now coming to Volendam is really an injection of quality for our team."
