Ngubane: Chiefs Muti must be stronger

The legendary Mlungisi 'Professor' Ngubane says it is God who determines the Soweto derby results and not muti.

Though they head into all derbies as favourites Orlando Pirates always finds a way to lose against Kaizer Chiefs.

After Saturday's loss Pirates have now failed to beat their rivals for the fifth time in a row.

In the past two league encounters against Amakhosi the Sea Robbers have lost due to conceding some bizarre goals.

"Remember there is God in all the things that we do," Ngubane tells KickOff.

"So, if he has already written down where the results are going, you can't change that.

"During Covid, this boy Olisa Ndah caused a penalty, and now he is scoring an own goal, that's strange.

"But it's the goalkeeper [Sipho Chaine] who should be blamed not Ndah.

"But we can also say Pirates beat themselves because Chiefs didn't score.

"This means luck is on Chiefs side, Chiefs have been struggling.

"So if this is Muti it means the Chiefs one is more powerful than Pirates.

"Remember Mpontshane once left the goalposts unaware [laughs], and now Chaine also does the same.

"It means Chiefs muti affects goalkeepers. I suspect their muti man attends the derby or watches the game live on TV.

"He just switches on whatever he is switching and his timing is so perfect. Maybe he sits behind the Pirates goalkeeper who knows?

"Pirates had two defenders on the ball, so where was the goalkeeper going? The only thing he had to do was to shout, 'Away or Keeper!'

"So if it's muti then it's a powerful one."
