Kaizer Chiefs' Congolese forward Christian Saile Basomboli, has been given a stern warning that his contract will be at stake, as his scoring struggles continue.
Basomboli has now played 30 games for Chiefs since his signing at the beginning of 2023.

While his start wasn't discouraging as he netted thrice in his first 16 appearances during the second half of last season, his fortunes have turned out worse this term.
The 23-year-old has scored just once in 14 appearances having already been handed 580 minutes of game time which is the most that any striker has had at Cbiefs this season.
"The boy needs to be reminded about that what brought him to Chiefs is scoring goals and if he is not doing that then he will find himself out," says fellow Congolese Pelewe Delamogo.
Delamogo is a retired goalkeeper who played for Free State Stars and AmaZulu after arriving from DR Congo.
"It is no secret that Chiefs need the boy for goals and that is what he should be doing for them.

"In the games that I have watched him playing, I noticed that he is a strong boy but is lacking when it comes to getting the target right.
"As a striker you only have one mission which is to score goals or assist.
"He is lacking with his finishing which is the most important element to his game as a striker.
"Luckily, since he is still young it is an element of the game that can still be worked on going forward.
"I still he should be working on this a lot more at training.

"Once the boy doesn't score goals for Chiefs this season, he will start feeling the discomfort of not being like by fans and the club management especially as a foreign player.
"The reality is that as a foreign player you must be doing better than the locals.
"It will become uncomfortable for him at Chiefs once the fans turn against him, so he needs to make sure that he scores goals.
"His contract will be at risk this season as a foreign player.
"Trust me, I don't think Chiefs will be patient with him for longer than the end of this season.
"So, he doesn't want to get himself into that space of discomfort playing with so much pressure on his back.

"I think he will find himself loaned out or released at the end of this season because the club will need the foreign space to bring in another striker.
"The only way to be relevant at Chiefs as a foreign player is to deliver top performances and as a striker that means scoring goals," says Delamogo, who now runs an academy in Durban.
