Dutch set up last eight clash with Italy

Italy progressed to quarter-finals of the Women's World Cup after defeating China 2-0 at the Stade de la Mosson.

Valentina Giacinti broke the deadlock for the Italians after 15 minutes with her first goal of the tournament.

The victory was sealed shortly after the halftime break, with Aurora Galli netting her third of the campaign.

Netherlands 2-1 Japan

Netherlands became the final side to book their ticket for the last eight with a 2-1 victory over Japan.

The Dutch took the lead on 17 minutes through Lieke Martens, before Yui Hasegawa restored parity three minutes before the break.

With the game seemingly headed to extra-time, Netherlands were awarded penalty which Martens converted to seal the win and a place in the quarters.
