The Guinea national team set to compete at the Africa Cup of Nations has seemingly been issued a strong warning by a prominent government official ahead of the tournament.
With just over a week before AFCON 2021 kicks off in Cameroon, some squads have already begun travelling to the host nation, where they will continue their preparations and play some warm-up matches before the continental showpiece takes centre stage.
While the likes of Senegal and Algeria are among the favourites to win the tournament, Guinea interim president Mamady Doumbouya has now seemingly given the National Elephants no choice but to bring the prized trophy home after issuing a stark warning to the players, perhaps as a form of motivation.

Although Guinea will be participating in their 13th AFCON, they having never got their hands on the trophy, but Doumbouya want his team to secure that maiden title.
"The cup, or you reimburse the money that's been invested in you," the interim president said to the team at their sending-off meeting this week, per GHANAsoccernet.
The West African side will be led by Liverpool star Naby Keita at the showpiece, and will begin their AFCON 2021 journey against Group B opponents Malawi on 10 January, before taking on Senegal on 14 January and then Zimbabwe on 18 January.
